RiseWell Community Services is looking for a full-time Accountant to supervise the staff and their work in the Accounts Payable and Account Receivable Departments. In this role, you will be responsible for budgeting, claiming and reporting to ensure compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
· 3 years of Experience in Accounting.
· Proficient computer skills of Microsoft Word. Advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables, vlookup/hlookup functions and conditional formulas.
· Familiarity preferred with: Fund-EZ, Docuware, and Abila MIP.
· Understanding and experience with document management as it pertains to electronic document storage as well as standard filing of accounting records
CORE & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
A. Gathering invoices and data entry into worksheets used for preparation of expenditure claims to funding sources for certain programs as well as assist in budget modifications:
B. Ability to be used as a resource for other members in the department.
C. Prepare bank reconciliations of operating, payroll and trust/fiduciary accounts.
D. Review and management of outstanding checks for all operating and payroll accounts as well as consumer credit balances (all residential programs).
- Send letters to vendors to validate outstanding balances
- Send letters to staff to reissue payroll or travel checks
- Send letters to clients to return credit balances for overpaid rent
- Work with the Accounts Receivable department and housing programs to return client credit balances, and with the Accounts Payable department to reissue stale checks.
E. Review utility bills in DocuWare to determine if sales tax was paid and submits tax exempt form to vendors for removal of sales tax going forward. Completes NYS Form FT-500 to claim reimbursement of sales tax paid on motor fuels based on Hertz Reports.
F. General ledger responsibilities including payroll journal entries from Alcott data files (and relevant payroll/volunteer accruals), sick pay accruals, calculation and booking of agency administration and fringe allocations, booking contract revenue and reclassifying journal entries. Also responsible for GL account reconciliations and keeping schedules thereof of certain accounts.
G. Assist in preparation of the agency’s Consolidated Budget Reports (CBR), Consolidated Quarterly and Claiming Reports (CQR/CCR), and Consolidated Fiscal Reports (CFR).
H. Responsible for receiving LS3 sheets from program and track units of service and persons served schedules for all programs. Reporting of same to Suffolk County Division of Community Mental Hygiene and New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as the case may be.
I. Comply with agency Compliance Plan and False Claims Policy by preventing, detecting and reporting any potential healthcare abuse and fraud. Report any potential non-compliance and comply with all other federal, state and local regulations applicable to this job description.
J. Utilize all agency based IT applications pertaining to this job description in a proficient manner.
K. Remain current on changing developments in individual field of expertise.
Will be responsible for special projects as needed from the CFO or Director of Finance. Perform all other job duties as assigned.
SALARY: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 Annually, BOE
