RiseWell Community Services is looking for a Full-Time Behavioral Specialist Provide assessment, support and skill training to individuals with psychiatric disabilities in a licensed residential program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BA in Human Services with 3 years’ experience working with persons with psychiatric disabilities. Knowledge of residential services, substance abuse services and evidence based practices. Clean valid NY State Driver’s License. Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.
Salary: $45,000.00 per year
CORE & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide supportive counseling and appropriate behavioral intervention to residents daily.
- Establish and facilitate behavioral intervention plans with identified residents as often as necessary weekly.
- Facilitate ongoing individual and group sessions with these residents weekly.
- Direct supervision and training of staff regarding documentation including residents’ charts weekly.
- Maintains collateral contacts with outside service providers at least monthly.
- Provides redevelopment of daily living skills including meal preparation, laundry, ADLs, medication maintenance, budgeting, socialization and advocacy skills to the residents daily.
- Supervises residents to ensure that all living spaces are kept clean and orderly each week.
- Provides transportation to residents as needed each month/
- Alert Supervisor to maintenance/safety issues as they arise.
- Management of crisis situations under supervision of Program Supervisor.
- Provides onsite coverage for staff members as necessary daily.
- Participates in on-call emergency back-up rotation and provides crisis intervention assistance when needed.
- Reports all incidents to Program Supervisor and documents incidents as per agency policies/procedures.
- Actively participate in weekly team meetings and monthly high risk meetings.
- Assist Program Supervisor in initial and ongoing training of staff each month.
- Comply with agency Compliance Plan and False Claims Policy by preventing, detecting and reporting any potential healthcare abuse and fraud. Report any potential non-compliance and comply with all other federal, state and local regulations applicable to this job description.
- Utilize all agency-based IT applications in a proficient manner including collaborative documentation, review of emails at least twice per shift (at start and prior to close of the shift), as well as utilizing Outlook Calendar on a daily basis.
- Remain current on changing developments in individual field of expertise and licensing credentials
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
